we are on the look oput for steampunk furniture and parts all the time...its mostly in our industrial section out in the cold under the awning....also lots of little parts on our etsy http://www.gypsymarket.etsy.com/

and our love signs under the awning... steampunk is a big deal with some of our show dealers and i really like it too...
will it ever get big in corn country? probably not...but you can always see a bit of it the store!!!!our latest steampunk coming in.....big wire waste baskets.... more locker baskets... a cute metal table with fat feet..... and lots more watch parts on our etsy....and 2 more LOVE SIGNS... FUNKY OLD TELEPHONES... guages and dials....more old typerwriters...from 30 to 50$..
lots of metal tool boxes...and tackle boxes....they would be fun for
steampunk jewels.

and did i mention that i was at an auction with a guy who paid 10,000$ for a coon dog?

we had a great weekend...lots of customers came in some had been up all night at the other places!!!

i love this picture....its so calm and beautiful...we have a big 5 ft angel too...and smaller iron angels..by next week we will have a whole angel display in the white room....
BE AN ANGEL FOR CHRISTMAS....at the openhouse we raise some money for our local ministers who help so many at christmas....5% of candle sales will go to them....they are such a good group with much need and no overhead...and its local

this is a super busy week at green oak.,,,, we are starting early on all the displays....the store should look completely different in a week...today we will be packing up the little present that everyone who comes will get....its a suprise.

THE WEEK IN REVIEW .......

got some little robots...like hanging off of our guardian mascot...made in indiana, by a disabled vet.....we used one for a jewelry display....

if you were here sunday you might have noticed 2 giant renegade st. bernards in the rough room..... big and scary..... they had escaped from the neighbors....also in the rough room, the walnuts are falling on the metal roof....it isnt gun shots....

chaos reigns....we are working behind a barricaded area getting our christmas out...dh bought 3800 stamps today for our big mailing for the openhouse...so i guess i will be sticking them on the postcards tonight.....

our hottest thing last weekend....lanterns...

big ones and small ones....one guy was going to drill a hole in the bottom and fill with lights or outside....many bought our battery tapers for them

some of ruths fun lanterns...these have the battery candles too....nothing is glued in , so you can make your own display next spring.....

heres one of our suppliers....a fun guy who always has more junk to sell me......he stops here on his way to the scrap yard....old and still working...and loving it..he brought giant chains ....made to pull trains...and lots of parts for our junky birdhouses that we will make for next summer.....

Steampunk Parts

this is our etsy idea...selling big lots of true vintage steampunk parts to the altered art world... for jewlery making , quirky collages, wierd machines, fun , or maybe big gothic or steampunk constructions..and also vintage parts for scrapbookkers.. it would be so fun to see where all this ends up.. we will have lotsof nice super old watch dials on soon....we have a lot of them.... i dont quite get how anything is found on etsy.the tag system is kind of hard to figure.....but we are on there ... i have learned some new words on there...destash...convo, ning, etsymini,

tags, and more....we have about 60 groups on and more coming..

. my aim is for the artists who want the real vintage parts , not digital or made in china stuff.... altered artists who need steampunk supplies.. its all here at the store too...
