this was a great day at work...at auction hoping for a big load....it didnt happen....so many people there and things went high high high!!! wonder who bought the 1000$ book? pictured above....
and several in the crowd bought 100$ fruit jars...im just not that up on fruit jars....
i love the first picture of the broom ...isnt that a perfect symbol of the depression era way of life.... they were so poor and careful...they used that broom up!!!
i bought quite a bit....but not a truck load by any means...dang!!!!

Ann - My favorite occupation. Nothing better than a good, cheap auction to lift the spirits. Was the $1000 book an old atlas?
yes it was..1850.....and unadvertized...and the auctioneer didnt even know what it was or thedate until it got over 100$$ ha ha..... but the sale brought in EVERYBODY in the area....so the right buyers knew....

It always amazes me the stuff that is held on to. Thats what makes it so fun and we gravitate to find it.
